This neeeeds a little explanation. Since Susan and Delenn had tragically few scenes together, I included some of their other relationships to show why they need one another. Out of them all, I personally only ship Russian Winter romantically. But you're welcome to interpret the others (Marcus, Lennier, Dukhat) in that manner if you so choose. I have to admit I kinda omitted Sheridan though.

SO I've been really sick recently and couldn't quite finish this, but it's still technically postable despite all its issues. Since the vid is short and it's nice to have variety if someone doesn't care much for one of the ships, I thought I'd still include it.

Date: 2019-02-27 04:19 pm (UTC)this is just so inspiring, the way you've put it all together - like I recognise the scenes individually and I know at some level they don't form a part of a whole that describes Susan/Delenn but it's just so easy to sink into this and forget that and see Susan coming in to a wounded Delenn and not say 'I think I loved Talia' but just to see her in her recovery, maybe. I think my heart legit broke the moment Susan picked up the pike from the wall, and how it was framed with Delenn having chosen Susan as her successor for the position of Anla'shok Na. You get the impression Susan's not exactly the keenest for the reasons of her past, but Delenn is like "there is nobody who is better for this role than you" and there is this hopefulness behind it, that they'll heal each other, that it's something they both so sorely need.
my god I want these two growing old together so so so much more than I already did (because lbr I already did). This was so strong and powerful and there was this element of love and support through the narrative and it wasn't overtly romantic as some of your Russian Winter vids but there were these little Moments, you know? Like god get you a lady who looks at you the way Delenn looks at Susan at 0:30. That scene with Delenn in the dark works so well. How much of these scenes do you alter, colour-wise? And how do you do it? how do you work your magic
I haven't even started in on the fancomic which !!!! I love this, I love Talia's Battle Stance (we need more Talia Battle Stance in our lives). I also didn't notice before how long you've made her hair - it's a great note to the progression of time but also I love it because her hair is cut so straight in S1 when she's full-on Psi Corps, then it's longer and looks less straight-edged in S2, and now with it halfway down her back and layered it feels like it's a symbol of her changed alliance.
okay I'm reading way too much into things I just really have a lot of hair feels where B5 is concerned.
ANYWAY you are beyond talented or gifted this is just insane the amount and quality of work you have legit blessed us with this month. Thank you ??? so much??!??@ holy shit.

Like as much as I wish the show had given us those tones for Susan/Delenn, their relationship has such a great focus on mutual support and just an overall admiration and comfort with one another? I probably could've chosen a song to frame them in a more obviously romantic light, but I rly loved how naturally this one let me show their dynamic.
Kjhkfkjhkj so for coloring I add basic adjustments to all clips just to make them look nice? Like the footage is usually kinda bland on its own, so things like higher brightness, contrast, and sharpening are usually needed. The program I use lets you add effects to an entire track, so instead of having to apply it to every single clip it kinda blankets them all. Then you just have to do individual adjustments to anything that didn't take well (which is all too common with older media bc the lower quality just... ruins everything.)
For this vid I did two main tracks, one with higher saturation and one with lower saturation. The higher saturation track also had a warmer coloring than the lower track to fit the happier vs. sadder scenes. With emotional impact in mind, overall I just mess with some color correcting tools until things look nice tbh? I also add a spotlight effect which lets me tint the edges whatever color is needed for the overall mood. It's rly nice because it darkens the edges as well so there can be more focus on the content of each scene.
Sorry I over-explained a bit kljhkjd but I hope I answered ur question somewhere in there.
As for the comic, the hair was def intentional! The waviness might've been more because it's fun to draw it like that (I genuinely can't remember my overall intent bc it's been a bit), but the length was to show how much time has passed and all.
