adelate. All other mistakes name/character/whatnotwise, totally mine. :) Feel free to point 'em out so I can make corrections. :) I'm sure there are plenty, 'cos I feel like I really need to rewatch the series.. ;)
He had been watching her all day, her soft lips forming words of diplomacy, her speech punctuated by the eloquent movement of her hands. He had tried to maintain a look of intense concentration on his face, but in reality, his attention had started to slip away from the matter at hand. At least, until one of the ambassadors for the Non-Aligned Worlds had directed a question for him, which he almost hadn't noticed. Thankfully, he had managed to gather himself quickly and answer the question, and none were the wiser. He had mentally berated himself for his obvious lack of interest in the important matters they were discussing, but could not help glancing once more at Delenn. There was the slightest smile on her face and it nearly took his breath away. He decided he would talk to her right after the meeting was finished.

As the ambassadors were slowly filing away from the council chambers, Jeffrey moved over to Delenn's side of the table.
"Ambassador.", he said. Delenn stopped gathering the papers from the table and turned to face him.
"Commander Sinclair." Delenn replied with a smile, and continued, "I trust you are as satisfied with the results of our discussion today, as I am."
"Yes, the negotiations went well, and I'm certain that everyone is pleased with the outcome."
They exchanged a couple of more pleasantries, before Jeffrey could muster up the courage to ask her what he had been planning to, for a long time now.
"Ambassador.. I mean, do you mind if I call you.. Delenn?" he managed to say.
"Oh, not at all Commander. And may I call you.. Jeffrey?" she replied smiling.
"Yes of course, please do!" he answered, relieved by her approval of his familiarity with her.
"I was wondering what your plans were for tonight? After such a long and exhausting meeting, I thought I'd offer you dinner tonight, if you're not otherwise engaged?" There. He had said it. The rest was out of his hands.
She perused him thoroughly, with a quizzical look on her face, before replying: "Unfortunately I'm going to be very busy for the next few days, but perhaps you could join me in my quarters the day after tomorrow, for dinner perhaps?"
"I do believe I will be able to make it then."
They exchanged a smile and left the council chambers together, in a companionable silence.
