It's been a while since I've seen the series, and, alas! I don't have access to the episodes at the moment, so I apologise if anything is really wonky canon-wise. Enjoy! :D

Date: 2009-09-17 07:37 am (UTC)Incidentally - if I might pitch in and defend Londo just a teensy bit (not that he's got an awful lot to be defended for at the point of the series in which you describe him, but still...) As I recall, Londo didn't ask to be present to witness the bombing of Narn - Refa expected him to be, and while Londo didn't refuse, I always interpreted his reaction as one of being horrified at the prospect. Of course, the latter is personal interpretation, as it was never stated explicitly, so you're perfectly entitled to be of a different opinion. :) Just - I'm a Londo girl at heart, you see (because of his actions in later seasons, not those in s2 and s3), and I was kind of itching to throw in my five cents on this. *g*
The Delenn story is my favorite - I adore it! This
She hated that it felt like penance, and yet still wasn’t enough.
in particular, is so beautifully said, and fits her very well.
Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks for reading! I'm really glad you enjoyed them.

Date: 2009-09-27 02:17 pm (UTC)Delenn's and Talia/Susan's are my favorites. I've always thought hair would be terrifically difficult to get used to if you'd never had any. My son's hair all fell out when he was one year old; the number of comments and even fear of 'contagion' was interesting, when not appalling. It's an integral part of our identity as humans, apparently.
As for Susan/Talia, I've spent a lot of time wondering how much Susan revealed to Talia in their brief time together. I was researching in the scriptbooks recently and came across JMS's explanation for Talia's (I mean, the actress here) leaving. I guess he really did intend for this to be a big romance. Sigh, what might have been.

Date: 2009-09-27 11:53 pm (UTC)Given how much time I have to spend getting my hair to at least pretend to co-operate, I imagine Delenn would be incredibly uncomfortable with suddenly having a full head of the stuff. I hope your son wasn't too badly treated by his peers (and his peer's parents)--- having dead skin cells on the top of your head isn't really much to write home about at the end of the day.
I wish they'd been able to develop the Susan/Talia arc -- I would have loved to have seen where they were going with it. But I can't imagine, given that telepathy in the B5 universe seems to be strengthened with physical contact, that Talia wouldn't have known that Susan was a latent telepath. But that's just a personal theory.
Thanks again for reading! I'm really glad you enjoyed them. :)

Date: 2009-09-28 01:21 am (UTC)The one thing that bothers me about Talia knowing about Susan's telepathy is that means PsiCorps knew after Talia's embedded personality took over. You'd think they would use that knowledge. Telepaths aren't permitted to serve in EarthForce, for instance. There's a lovely dark AU in that concept somewhere.
I wonder if Susan held back enough to keep it hidden, and if Talia's fate just reinforced her mother's dictum to keep herself hidden and secret and safe. Leading to the inevitable with Marcus. Poor girl.
