Hi again. My sixth year of making music for this challenge was, well, challenging. After struggling with inspiration for a while, I went back to a community member's suggestion that they would like to hear a song about Zack Allen. While Zack himself did not prove to be an especially inspirational character for me, Jeff Conaway's recent passing got me thinking about the many people involved with Babylon 5 who died before their time. This is a song for them (and I suppose for anyone else, real or fictional, who needs to be memorialized) borrowing imagery from "Sleeping in Light." My other goal for this song was to write something that was comforting without being religious, in deference to JMS's particular views on that subject. (c:

So, it's kind of an oblique subject this year again, and I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with the result, but I hope you like it anyway. As always, if you enjoy this, you may want to know that more of my music (fannish and otherwise) can be found at my website.

I guess we're having a free-for-all day or something? If so, I have a little something extra for you all. This summer, I did the 30 Day TV Meme in my own journal, and as you would expect I wound up talking about Babylon 5 quite a bit during it. I figured that some people from this community might be interested in reading my thoughts, so the following links will direct you to every post where I answered a prompt with something Babylon 5-related:

Day 4: Your favorite show ever
Day 6: Favorite episode of your favorite TV show
Day 7: Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show
Day 14: Favorite male character
Day 22: Favorite series finale
Day 26: OMG WTF? season finale
Day 30: Saddest character death

It should go without saying that these posts contain spoilers for B5's entire run. If you have any comments on these posts, I welcome them either here or on the original entries themselves. Enjoy!

Hi. It's my fifth year writing a song for this challenge, if you can believe that (I certainly can't). Last year, several people had requested something about Lennier, and this time around I actually manage to deliver instead of veering off into obscurity. With this song I've tried to capture the fact that while Lennier's situation is sad, most of it is also his own fault, and also that he seems to spend an awful lot of time playing the martyr when it's not really necessary or helpful. I do love him but he drives me up a wall sometimes. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the song! And thanks to all the other participants for creating and sharing such wonderful fanworks.

Also, if you enjoy this, there is much more where it came from at my website, Beloved Porcupine Music.

Hi again. For the fourth year in the row I've come to this community with an original song. When I signed up, a few people said they would enjoy hearing a song about G'Kar, so that's where I went with it. It got kind of philosophical, like they do, and wound up being sort of about his spiritual and moral evolution throughout the show. And because JMS is much better at writing this stuff than I am, I borrowed a bunch of dialogue (particularly from the Interstellar Alliance Declaration of Principles) this time around to make the point. Enjoy!

I guess I also have the honor this year of being the last in the month to post. (c: I hope it's worth the wait. Thanks everyone for your great contributions - I have greatly enjoyed reading and viewing them all.

(Quick shameless plug: If you like this music, my band, Beth Kinderman & the Player Characters, just released its second album, Apocalypse Blues, which is an awesome progressive rock/punk/folk record featuring songs about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, alien invasions, and characters from roleplaying games. More information is here and sample tracks are at my Myspace.)

Hi. I've come to you this year with another song inspired by Babylon 5. This one came out a little differently than the last two. Instead of writing about a character as I did in the past, this time my inspiration came from one of my favorite B5 episodes (which is also in my opinion one of the most underrated), "Passing Through Gethsemane." I used the ideas and images of this episode to explore more personal territory than I have in the last two songs. I know it's not what you were expecting to hear; it's not what I expected to write, either. But I hope you like it anyway.

Oh, and one shameless plug before we move on to the actual content: If you like this song or the ones I've done in the past, please check out my website, Beloved Porcupine Music to hear more. Since the last time I posted, I have improved tremendously as a musician, got a real band together, and even released my first CD, All Of My Heroes Are Villains, which is available for purchase from a variety of sources including my website, CDBaby, and iTunes.

And now, with no further ado, the song. Enjoy!

Hi. I wrote a song for this community last year, so I figured I'd do the same again. I recently rewatched the whole series with a friend who'd never seen B5 before, and this time around I was particularly struck by Londo and his story arc, so that's what I chose as the theme for my song. Obliquely, I suppose it contains spoilers for all five seasons. I hope you enjoy it. (c:

Hi. First of all I'd like to say how much I've been enjoying all of the great contributions that have been made this month. I haven't commented much, but I've been reading and looking at just about everything, and I've gotta say I'm floored by how amazingly talented everyone here is.

And now for my own little contribution. I'm a musician and songwriter, so when I heard about this community I decided to participate by writing a song about my favorite. Well, to make a long story short, I tore out some big clumps of my hair doing this but it still got finished, and I hope that you all enjoy listening to it.

(Oh, and a shameless plug: If you enjoy this song you might like checking out the rest of my music, which is kept over at Beloved Porcupine Music.)
